DOUBLE THE PLEASURE: TWO SNEAKERS IN ONE

HANDICRAFT WORK – IT TAKES TIME, BUT WE DO IT
In our Parisian location – the Sneakers Workshop – our Mid Royal model is made by the expert hands of our artists, to be transformed into a signature model, the “must have” of our collection: the Mid Royal Early Morning is a unique creation.
From the choice of original materials to the assemblage of fabrics and leather components, the creation of the Mid Royal Early Morning – in a limited edition – requires seven hours of precise, technical work (aside from drying time).
A «DOUBLE AGENT» FOR MATERIALS, YOU CAN COUNT ON US
The “cool” fringed bandana, the classical chicken foot and the exuberant iridescent reflects play among them for a result with strong contrasts. The over stabbing work with recycled material finalizes the precision of the assemblage.

CREATIVITY GALORE
The right foot has its own personality and the left foot has another one. Certain details play with the limits of the shoe for an even more audacious aspect. There are components which we place on the upper part of the shoe such as stabled patches, which stick out from underneath the sole. We do that on purpose.
THE ORIGIN: THE MID ROYAL TM180

TECHNICAL INNOVATION OVER 10 YEARS
It all started in 2013, in Hong Kong. It was when we got fed up lacing and unlacing our fashionable sneakers that the idea of Mid Royal came to us. A model with an innovating design, conceived by a wish to save energy in our tedious, manual gestures. Ten years later, it’s still appreciated just as much
ITS CODE NAME IS TM 180
Unique and iconic, the TM180 scratch enables your feet to slip into the shoe without effort thanks to a 180° opening. We are quite proud to see that we’re the only ones to have thought of it. But the fact that you’re so numerous to appreciate it makes us even prouder.

THE BUTTERFLY
The silhouette of this insect, incarnating freedom of movement, is at the heart of the brand. Its crown finds its origin in the heraldry of the Renaissance barons and its discreet, hot engraved logo finds its origin in the French jewelry tradition. An elegant marriage of tradition and fashion.
CAREFULLY SELECTED MATERIALS
The materials used are the basis of handicraft work: without quality material, there’s no beautiful product. That’s why we don’t neglect anything: the quality of leathers used is a good compromise between softness and solid foot support.
There’s the choice of the hide, of its thickness, of its texture, of its touch, of its colors and of the craftsmanship that goes into it.
Just like the inner lining, the interior – notably the upper lining – is made of calf leather from Italy. It is long lasting, with a beautiful sheen.

FRENCH KNOW-HOW

Clean insole
It is the result of our secret alchemy of calf leather and cork with sanitizing herbal inserts. In addition to smelling good, these herbs improve foot hygiene by promoting aeration and absorbing moisture.
In other words, perspiration is kept to a minimum and the sneakers can be worn barefoot without giving off an unpleasant smell.
This sole also remains removable, allowing you to replace it if needed.

Sole
Paris, at Baron Papillon, it is the « Place de l’Étoile. We are re-using our unique design which identically retraces the roundabout and the avenues that enter it.
Concerning the composition, we provided our new Portuguese supplier with very strict specifications:
- 75% recycled rubber
- 20 % natural rubber
- 5% synthetic rubber
The abrasion coefficient is high and guarantees durability. Its 3 cm height protects the uppers against scratchs. Neither too big or too thin, just in keeping with the ground.
A FRENCH HERITAGE: HANDICRAFT WORK WHICH IS ECOLOGICALLY RESPONSIBILE
Handicraft work and well thought-out production
Concerned about environmental problems, we have always wanted sneakers which are both elegant and astute, perfect for today’s slow fashion movement. We adhere to the principle of "zero destruction" for our unsold stock and we continue to develop creative processes, privileging European materials which are truly respectful of the environment, while associating ourselves with ecological collaborative projects.

True quality fabrication
Without quality materials, no quality products! At Baron, we are now more demanding with the quality of our leathers, just as we are with the inner lining. As for the upper lining, it is made of calf leather from Italy.

The conception is quite intricate, 100% made in France
Upstream, Eric makes a brief for each model and Benoit proposes several designs. Once the design is validated for the new sneaker, it’s time to choose the raw materials, which come from France and Europe in order to privilege short circuit production. Upon reception in Montjean-sur-Loire, Cathy and her team elaborate the prototype from the selected design.

The prototype is validated. Production can begin
Cutting, stabbing, assembling the sole with the upper lining, hot gluing the sole... there are no less than 35 steps in the entire production chain.

Until the last step: shipping
Nothing is taken for granted. Each step goes through the expert hands of our French artisans and each pair is pampered until its final preparation, then packaged.

Attractive and responsible, an example of up-cycling
What makes us conscious of our environment? Production which is 100% made in France. We have
recently adopted boxes made of recycled cardboard, also made in France at our La Roche-sur-Yon site. Lighter, they enable us to further reduce our environmental impact and our carbon footprint linked to transport. As long as you’re lightening your footprint – even if it’s a carbon footprint – what better way to do it than with our sneakers!

Cleaning instruction
It is easy to clean: soap and a damp cloth (no solvents)
